Dear Event Planner:

I’m Cynthia Libert, M.D., a board certified family physician who’s stepped out of the box of conventional medicine. In 2019 I founded Caring for the Body, PLLC, a private integrative medicine practice in Asheville, NC. I help people recover from complex, chronic illnesses so that they can live their lives to the fullest.

My special interest is in brain health, specifically the mind-body connection and the prevention and reversal of cognitive decline. I am fascinated by the gut microbiome and the gut-brain axis.  I speak to groups and teach at the intersection of neuroscience, lifestyle medicine, and Christian spirituality.

I speak to secular and faith-based groups. My heart and my ultimate goal is to help people restore their health, point others to Jesus, the great Physician, and inspire people to find JOY on their journey! 

My goal is to communicate life transforming information with audiences, so I am diligently working to hone my craft of being a communicator. I have trained with author and speaker, Amy Carroll with Next Steps Coaching, for message development. I’ve attended the SpeakUP conference with Carol Kent and faculty, and the She Speaks Conference with Lisa TerKeurst of Proverbs 31 Ministries. I’ve been mentored by author and speaker Shannon Ehtridge, and am currently enrolled in a year-long intensive mentorship with Dr. Saundra Dalton-Smith.

Cynthia Libert, M.D.

As an integrative physician and follower of Jesus, I have a deep appreciation for how our bodies are innately designed to heal.  The word “doctor” derives from the Latin “docere,” which means “to teach.” Teaching is my passion – it’s what drew me to became a doctor in the first place.

My unique Happy Brain, Healthy Body approach to lifestyle medicine is holistic and transformative – and is how I healed my own brain and body.

I would love to share my messages of hope and healing with you!

Dr. Libert is a board certified family physician and educator.  She teaches at the intersection of neuroscience, lifestyle medicine and Christianity. 

Her mission is to help people prevent and reverse chronic disease, build stress resilience and create vibrant health.  Dr. Libert’s ultimate goal is to share biblical wisdom that empowers us to live out our God-given purpose. 

 She has a private medical practice, Caring for the Body, PLLC, in Asheville, North Carolina, where she lives with her husband, three daughters, two cats and a cavapoo named Charlie. 

Education & Training

We believe that God’s fingerprints are clearly visible in all of creation, and especially in the design of our human bodies.  (Psalm 19:1)

We believe that the body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, and that we are called to be good stewards of our health. (1 Corinthians 6:19)

We believe that we can experience abundant life when we awaken to the reality of our union
with Jesus Christ, and inclusion in the sacred dance of the Triune God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Galatians 2:20)

We believe that salvation is a free gift from God. (Ephesians 2:8)

The Joy Prescription – Cultivate Vibrant Health and JOY through Intentional Living and Health Stewardship

We are sick as a human population. From autoimmunity and addictions to cancer and COVID-19, we are collectively suffering. Unfortunately, fifty percent of people have at least one chronic disease and 25% of the population has two or more.

Physical and mental illnesses cause enormous stress, pain and suffering, not only for the affected individual, but for everyone in their circle of influence. Disease often robs us of achieving our dreams and limits our ability to serve those we love. 

Yet, science has proven over and over again that most of the chronic diseases like type 2 diabetes, heart disease, hypertension, high cholesterol, cognitive decline, anxiety, depression and obesity can be prevented, and in many cases actually reversed, by holistic lifestyle measures.

The key to creating health is to proactively build PHYSIOLOGICAL, MENTAL, AND SPIRITUAL stress resilience.

Dr. Libert partners with churches, faith-based community groups and not-for-profit organizations by offering holistic health workshops.

Her goal is to equip people with a practical toolkit for creating vibrant health and building stress resilience based on biblical principles and lifestyle medicine.
